Coalition plans to cut Benefit of the Doubt
A leaked document from the coalition’s mid-term relaunch has revealed that the government intends to remove the benefit of the doubt for personal taxpayers while increasing it for larger corporations.
Opponents point out that people on the lowest income need to get the benefit of the doubt as they have no chance of understanding tax legislation and, cannot afford to pay expensive accountants to do their cheating for them.
A government spokesman, while refusing to confirm the cut, said that savings from personal taxpayers were needed to fund the increase in benefit of the doubt being giving to larger corporations such as Starbucks.
