Man who didn’t murder Jill Dando didn’t not murder her enough
Barry George, who spent eight years behind bars after being wrongly convicted of the murder of Jill Dando, has lost his High Court bid for compensation on the grounds he ‘didn’t not murder her enough’.
Two judges ruled that although Mr George could not be convicted of killing Dando, he had not satisfied the legal test of convincing two elderly members of the judiciary that the issue of his apparently not murdering her in the eyes of the law was sufficient to warrant a payout.
‘It would be better if Mr George had not murdered Miss Dando at least twice,’ Lord Justice Beatson said, who also ruled that, ‘as Mr George is a bit weird, it is my view that he thoroughly deserved eight years behind bars’.
The High Court is soon to rule whether the Innocents of the Slaughter of the Innocents (Matthew 2: 13-23) were innocent enough.Click to send this story to a friend
