Royal Institute of Shelf-stackers welcomes IDS backing
The Royal Institute of Shelf-stackers (RISS) has welcomed works and pensions secretary Iain Duncan Smith’s statement on the Andrew Marr Show that shelf-stacking may be more important than geology or brain surgery.
‘Some smart people think that geology is more important than stacking supermarket shelves,’ said Sir Rufus Smith, president of the RISS, ‘so it’s good news to hear Mr Duncan Smith defending our noble discipline.’
Sir Rufus, who studied shelf-stacking at Iceland before completing his PhD at an Oxford Branch of Tesco, added that although IDS was not a shelf- stacker, he might one day acquire the skills.
‘Working as a work and pensions secretary is at least a start and a little better than doing nothing,’ he said.Click to send this story to a friend
