Pippa ‘feasts’ offer hope to Britain’s squeezed middle
Britain’s beleaguered middle-class has received a timely boost from the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister Pippa with the launch by Waitrose of ‘Pippa’s Friday Night Feasts’ in the supermarket’s magazine ‘Waitrose Kitchen’.
‘It will be an exciting opportunity to share my own passion for food and entertaining and I can’t wait to get started,’ she writes in the magazine.
‘It’s just what we need to get through these hard times,’ said Samantha Golightly from Buckinghamshire. ‘I’m so looking forward to trying out Pippa’s first Friday Night Feast idea in April on my husband.’
But Samantha’s stockbroker husband Julian said that as from April he’ll probably have to work late at the office on Fridays. ‘I’ll probably just grab a burger from the McDonald’s across the road,’ he said.Click to send this story to a friend
