British Formula 1 ace Jenson Button has accused his own team-mate Sergio Perez of driving ‘really really fast’ during their regular Sunday afternoon drive in Bahrain at the weekend.
Button and Perez clashed several times during their country run on Sunday, which was originally expected to last about forty minutes, and rarely climb above 25mph.
‘We’d had a lovely big Sunday roast lunch and then decided to go out for a little jaunt, maybe a stroll,’ said ex-world champion Button. ‘But the next thing I know we were hurtling round and round the Bahrain International Circuit at hundreds of kilometres an hour with Sergio several places in front of me.
‘I mean, he barely even paused to see whether there was anybody trying to cross, or any of those 20mph signs with little messages painted by schoolchildren that you get everywhere.
‘It was so irresponsible. And yet so boring.’
