Severely imprisoned murderer seeks ‘right to escape’

Dave Wills, a 46-year-old murderer with ‘locked up’ syndrome, will today seek a judicial review into his right to escape. ‘Life has become a living hell for me,’ said the killer. ‘I completely lack the means to commit homicide, so want the judges to allow my warders to carry out an assisted escape without fear of prosecution, although I’m not overly fussed about that last part.’

Judges are unlikely to grant the request, however, arguing that to do so would open the floodgates to other prisoners seeking the right to escape, even those suffering from comparatively light sentences. ‘We’d have people like Chris Huhne and Vicky Pryce claiming that they have locked-up syndrome, whereas in fact they are free to end it all any time they wish. See? There they go now.’
