Stereophonics new album made using Welsh Herald, pair of scissors and a hat

Welsh rocktards the Stereophonics celebrated their new album this week at a special launch event and exclusively revealed that the songs are written by taking random words from a local newspaper.

‘We spend all day cutting bits out of the Welsh Herald and then take turns pulling out headlines from a hat,’ explained lead singer Kelly Jones. ‘Yeah I know, it’s amazing isn’t it!’

It hasn’t always worked, though, and songs rejected for the new album included ‘Badger cull House fire kills Cardiff City 1′, ‘Tragic baby death revives local economy’ and ‘Sacked racist Wasps! Charity fun run’. However, after literally minutes the album was finished.

‘Getting the music done was the hard part,’ continues Jones. ‘Getting the right mix of bland non-offensive coffee table wankery can be tough, but we managed it. I’m now looking forward to hearing my new songs played back to me while on hold to renew my car insurance.’
