Roads blocked by people going away who thought no-one else would be going away

Roads across the UK were blocked today by people going away because they all thought no-one else would be going away.

Fiona Moffatt was trapped in her car with her two boys for five hours on the A303 in Devon. ‘I had this great idea of going away today, because I never thought anyone else would,’ she said. ‘It’s a miserable day, it’s raining – who in their right mind would go on holiday on a day like that?’

Dave McKenzie with his wife and three children are still on the M25 after leaving London to head for the Lake District. ‘I had this great idea of going away today because I never thought anyone else would,’ said Dave. ‘It’s a miserable day, it’s raining – who in their right mind would go on holiday on a day like that?’

All drivers are now in a state of total paralysis, because everyone is now wondering whether to go back home while everyone else presses on, or whether everyone else will decide to go home because everyone else will press on.
