Lord Prescott ‘knows where the Falkirk is’
Lord Prescott has been drawn into the Falkirk selection row, after claiming on Radio 4′s Today programme that he didn’t know where the constituency was and also that he did, as far as anybody could make out.
Prescott, who declared that he would never accept a peerage until he accepted a peerage, said: ‘I want to make it perfectly absolutely clear that I am well awares of the location of the Falkirk. Falkirk comes from the same place as Andy Murray and Cornwall is a lovely county with cream teas, and I must clarify my position with regard to my peerage which, by the way, I accepted because of the Pauline, it’s a right old to-do only because of the people thinking I wouldn’t be swayed by it, by saying that it is a considerable hobble at several pantomimes until I couldn’t after farshimmelt oatcake banana.’
