World speed-talking trophy retained by BT terms and conditions voiceover man
Ted Davis, the voiceover artist on BT adverts, has won the World Speed-Talking Championships for a record 10th time. He puts his success down to squeezing the terms and conditions of BT contracts into a two-second slot at the end of every advert.
‘I’dliketothankmyfriendsfamily-andofcourseBT-forallthesupporttheyhavegivenmeinpursuingmydreamoftalkingincomprehensiblyfast,’ said Mr Davis, before adding, ‘termsandconditionsapplyyourstatutoryrightsarenotaffected.’
Mr Davis’s victory statement lasted only 2.3 seconds, breaking the current world record for shortest acceptance speech.Click to send this story to a friend
