A nationwide search for missing 14-year old Mandy Lewis has been called off after she was found safe and well in a world of her own. The schoolgirl was last seen on Friday evening going up to her bedroom in her school uniform. When she failed to respond to knocks on her door, her parents contacted the police.
No trace was found of her meeting strangers over the internet or on CCTV cameras at railway stations, so the police contacted psychologists who advised them that she might be in a world of her own.
Detective Bill Williams, who led the hunt, said Mandy was discovered lying on her bed ‘oblivious to all the fuss’. ‘I suppose she was dreaming about that Justin Bieber again,’ said her mum.
