The Prime Minister has joined forces with entertainment mogul Simon Cowell in a frantic bid to get more teens into the polling booths during the 2015 general election.
‘It’s really important to engage young voters with the people who run their country,’ said Cameron, his Old Etonian dialect taking on a distinct northern twang. ‘Why do you think I rarely wear a tie? It’s to make me look more like Gary Barlow. Everybody loves Gary Barlow.’
The pair are working together in order to create a one-off television special, which encompasses lively political debate with pitching MPs against one another in light-hearted contests. Cowell, who Cameron chose for his wealth and experience in humiliating individuals is clearly animated by the idea.
‘You haven’t lived until you’ve seen Boris in a morph suit bashing the merry bells out of Ed Balls with a giant cotton bud,’ said Cowell. The show ‘I’m the PM, Please Let Me Stay in’ will air in May 2015 and will be hosted by Ant and Clegg.
