BBFC issues new language guidelines for crap films
Citing audience surveys that concluded that people have ‘seen a shitload of crap films lately’, the BBFC has issued new guidelines that will break film releases into three categories: Good, (G) Bollocks (B) and Utter Shite (Pirates of the Caribbean 2). It is hoped that this will save all but the worst simpletons from wasting their money on popcorn.
The BBFC’s Adam Schmidt added: ‘One issue we need to consider carefully is the language used in film classification itself. Our survey showed that a surprising number of people thought the ‘U’ classification stood for ‘Utterly Wanky’ and the ‘18’ category stood for the cost of the ticket in pounds, once you’ve added on car parking and a hot dog. Honestly, why do we bother?’
