Scotland to adopt the Peso

Alex Salmond has now revealed his ‘Plan B’, he has approached the Chilean Government with a view to Monetary Union after Scotland separates from the UK.

Salmond has hoped to establish a trade agreement known colloquially as ‘The Guano Treaty’, whereby Scotland is to exchange whisky for fertiliser, he also believes that there can be a profitable trade to supply residents of the Atacama with Scottish Water. Whilst acknowledging the engineering difficulties, he has proposed a pipeline from Arbroath to Valparaiso.

Salmond says that, with current exchange rates, by adopting the Peso, many Scots would become millionaires overnight.
