Branson to build a shed
Richard Branson has announced a radical new plan to transform the garden of his house in Surrey and possibly emerge as a disruptive force which could change the world’s economy, by building a garden shed and using it to store his wheelbarrow and lawn mower. Industry analysts have identified that the global shed business could be worth billions, particularly as the concept of shed ownership becomes embedded into India and China.
‘Virginsheds.com could be one of the biggest IPOs of the year,’ said Martin Green from global management consultants McKinsey & Co. ‘The market is still young and new entrants might incorporate new features such as cat flaps in the, battery-powered burglar alarm systems or even a complex system of “shelving” to store garden snippers and a watering can.’Click to send this story to a friend
