David Cameron has confirmed that at least one of the soon to be proposed Battleships Galactica would not be built. ‘Frankly we don’t have the technology and neither is due until the 24th century anyway,’ he said.
It had been noted by party strategists that some voters, notably on the far right and others that are just barking, expect large pointless capital projects to be cancelled, no matter the cost of cancellation.
‘We can hardly cancel the NHS database again,’ added the PM, ‘and somebody must start noticing it has been cancelled four times already. Obviously there are some contractors who would have bid for this project had it gone ahead and we’ll have to compensate them for that. Just a few billion, mind.’
