Cliché Society back from the brink

The Crawley Cliché Society has made a dramatic recovery, only months after it nearly calling it a day.  The society has been at the heart of the community for ever and a day, however, due to dwindling footfall, the writing had been on the wall until new society secretary Robert Gordon took the reins.

‘It’s certainly been a baptism by fire’, admitted Mr. Gordon today.  ‘Not to beat about the bush, we’d got ourselves into a bit of a rut, and I was banging my head against a brick wall trying to breathe new life into the club’.

‘Anyway’, continued Mr. Gordon, ‘better late than never we gave the place a lick of paint, got everything spick and span, and scoured the neighbourhood for new blood.  We may have bitten off more than we can chew but you can bet your bottom dollar we’ll soon be firing on all cylinders’.

The Cliché Society meets week in week out as regular as clockwork in the town centre. Be there or be square, (to coin a phrase).
