No one in Cabinet ‘experienced in anything’
Following the news that nobody in charge of state education in Britain has any experience of state education, it has emerged that not a single member of David Cameron’s cabinet has any experience of anything.
Eyebrows were raised when it became clear that the new Secretary of State for Education Nicky Morgan, her Ministers and all the parliamentary under-secretaries were privately educated and thus have no knowledge of the state sector beyond seeing the occasional episode of Waterloo Road.
Now it seems that no one in the government has any actual experiences of anything that they might have responsibility for, although Minister without Portfolio Grant Shapps has pointed out that he did, in fact, once own a portfolio. The new Government Chief Whip Michael Gove was reported to have reacted to the news by saying that the UK media was ‘a bunch of namby-pamby loony-lefty jumper-wearing weirdos’, although a spokesman later apologised for Gove’s comments, saying the minister ‘had no experience of how to talk to the media’.
