UKIP defends MEP’s ‘speak like Blair’ advice
UKIP has defended Bill Etheridge one of its MEPs who allegedly advised prospective party candidates to learn from the speaking style of Tony Blair. According to The Mail on Sunday, Etheridge described the warmonger as a ‘magnetic (gap for emphasis) and (gap for emphasis) forceful performer who (gap for emphasis) achieved a great deal’.
Labour has claimed that this shows Nigel Farage’s complete failure to clean up his party but Farage said: ‘Bill gave a seminar on public speaking and highlighted great speakers of the past, like Blair and Adolf Hitler as people whose style should be studied. We’re not condoning Blair’s actions, of course.’
The Hitler Society has written to UKIP, demanding an apology.
