Plans for the new Doctor Who series have been put on hold after a passport backlog at the Home Office forced the Time Lord to cancel a planned journey through time and space.
The Doctor had booked a SAGA holiday hill walking through the peak district of Alfava Metraxis, where no doubt something would have happened to threaten the very existence of the universe, but had to cancel at the last minute due to a Home Office hold up over the issuing of new passports.
Home Office officials were also concerned about the photograph sent to them for the latest passport application, which they say bears no resemblance to the person in the previous passport and have asked the Doctor to explain the anomaly. ‘It’s never been an issue before’ grumbled The Doctor. ‘I’ve had hundreds of passports over the years and no-one’s ever questioned it before. I blame the immigrants.’
A Home Office spokesman apologised for disappointing all Doctor Who fans, but pointed out that smuggling yourself into the country inside a small steel box is something they’re currently trying to crack down on a bit.
