Have you been mis-sold a ‘freedom from prosecution’ letter?

Following the statement that letters to the IRA providing immunity from prosecution shouldn’t be considered legal, a plethora of call centres have been contacting members of the public offering to obtain compensation.

‘I had a tax demand once,’ said an outraged pensioner from Leeds, ‘but nobody phoned up and sought to provide compensation for being mis-sold tax. How can I get one of these letters anyway?’ he added.

Ex Prime Minister Tony Blair has expressed ‘regret’ over the letters. ‘We never did put the right postage on,’ he said today. He said former members of terrorist organisations shouldn’t take advantage of the cold-calls. ‘Contact the missus, she’ll do it cheaper,’ he said.
