The Disney Corporation, producers of the High School Musical franchise, has responded to criticism that viewers were unable to hear any of the songs in the latest film over the sound of gunfire from the cafeteria next door. This is despite the merchandising plan for the film, which will see a free handgun given away with every McDonald’s Happy Meal.
It is thought that High School Musical 4 will mark the last film in the series, if only because all the characters will be killed off by a lonely outsider who viewers scarcely noticed in the earlier films. ‘It’s always been our intention that the films should develop, reflecting the growing maturity of the characters,’ a Disney spokesman said today, ‘That’s why we’re setting a psychopathic blog to song and transforming teenagers running for their lives into a choreographic montage. We’re all ready at the planning stage for a themed attraction for Disney World – it’s the ride of a lifetime and it’s all over in fifteen minutes’.
