Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has alarmed the world with a controversial claim that the 1980s synthesiser-based group Kraftwerk, generally assumed to be German, were in fact four electronic music enthusiasts from Gaza City.
‘Don’t be fooled by these lyrics referencing autobahns and the Tour de France,’ he continued, ‘These men have never left the occupied territories. Not that they are occupied, of course…’
He went on to blame Palestinians for Bauhaus architecture, sauerkraut, spiked helmets, oompah bands and beach towels left first thing every morning on the sun loungers nearest the pool.
A Palestinian spokesman commented; ‘It’s important that the history of the holocaust is not used as a political football. That said, it was all Netanyahu’s fault.’
