A survey of 4,000 people has revealed that Christians are less likely than the average adult to work in finance. Whilst the news will come as no surprise to the majority of sensible people, there are some who think the stereotype of bankers being little better than Beelzebub himself is outdated and unfair.
A spokesperson for the British Banking Association, said ‘We recognise that historically we were not as open to attracting a diverse group of employees as we should have been. That is why we have been working hard to increase the diversity of bankers and we have made many efforts to attract more women, BAME candidates and Christians to banking. This is why we have created a special diversity form with a tick box for ‘Christian’. Christian candidates will be fast-tracked to interview where they will be invited to take part in a special ritual to forever guarantee their position as a disciple of the De… I mean banker.’
The BBA are also organising an open evening for Christians who may be interested in a career at the Bank of England this evening. Those interested should bring their first born and any virgins they might feel might be interested.
