Alan Rickman, David Bowie, Glenn Frey, Dan Haggerty are just a few of the well known faces who we have said goodbye to in a year that is fast becoming known as “2016”.
And now it’s the turn of Chimpanzee Max. Max, who found fame in the seventies as the simian gaffer in a series of TV adverts for a popular tea, passed away peacefully in his own faeces last night.
A Family source said “oooooh ooooh! aaaaah, aaaaaaah! ooooh, ooooh, aaaah!”, although this may have been because they were trying to lower themselves into a bath full of hot water at the time.
Friend of a friend of the family, Lord Greystoke commented: “Ungowa! Iron bird come!”, before adjusting his loin cloth and disappearing into dense jungle.
Max’s headstone will fittingly be inscribed with the words that came to define his era: “Can ’em ride tandem?”
