Alcohol ban at airports ‘just for passengers’

Airlines have been quick to stress that any alcohol ban imposed at UK airports would be for passengers only and would not include mainline staff.  Furious pilots and baggage handlers say they would be seeking legal advice if the alcohol ban was extended to include them.

Pilot Tom Beesley said piloting a plane full UK tourists heading for Disneyland was a stressful job and the only way he and his cabin crew could cope with the plebs was by going on a 12 hour bender in the hospitality lounge prior to take off.  Meanwhile British Airways confirmed they would still be serving champagne to their first class passengers, while Ryanair would still be ‘dishing out the Toilet Duck’.
