Campaigning suspended while Tories form guard of honour


There was uproar last night as campaigning in the General Election stopped abruptly on the 33rd day to allow Conservative candidates to form a guard of honour for Theresa May.  Jeremy Corbyn revealed afterwards that he had agreed to the hiatus to mark her retirement after a long career for the Blues.

‘The Tories chose day 33 to mark the fact that they’re 33-1 on to win the election,’ he explained.  ‘Of course, that was fixed before they released their dementia tax plans. It’s a sad way for her to go out, scoring the own goal that means they may now come runners-up.’

The Conservatives had already ruled out playing in Europe
