Arms deals to be postponed for a week or so

The government has announced that all meetings negotiating Million pound arms deals with Iran, Saudi Arabia and Zimbabwe have been postponed to allow ministers to attend next weekends memorial ceremonies for those who died in the two great wars.

One minister, squeezing out a tear, said: ‘It’s only right that we remember the senseless slaughter – I’m sure the various dictators we sell our weapon too will understand.’

The Queen, whose son Andrew is the go-to guy if you need arms for your latest war will view the ceremonies from a nearby building and regale everyone with her funny stories of how she and her sister Margaret danced and sang with the survivors at the end of the second world war.
