British universities could soon be offering students the opportunity to take and pass a degree in their lunchbreak, no longer having to give up their current employment. And for those that can not pay the full the fees, they will have the option of settling the bill by washing up the dishes.
Complained one student: ‘When you look at it in detail you can see that the only subject any of us could pass in a lunchbreak is Media Studies, and we’ve be doing that for years. This country is woefully short of teachers and doctors. In order to produce future professionals, we’re talking about a much longer period of training – possibly a starter, main and a pudding!’
