Adult sex toy retailer Ann Summers has been accused of building in obsolescence and reduced performance for older versions of its top-selling Rampant Rabbit vibrator.
Doreen Allen, one of many disappointed customers, told ITV’s Holly Willoughby: ‘My hubby works on an oil rig and he’s often away from home, so I’ve come to rely on my little friend. I put some new Duracells in last week, but it ran out of juice after only five minutes. And so did the vibrator.’
Ann Summers has apologised and offered affected customers one year’s free subscription to its new mobile gigolo service starting in February. However, some analysts believe that this may not be enough to satisfy the many ex-public school government ministers among its customers.
