The Department for Work and Pensions has declined to become involved in the spat between ATOS and a 10,000 year old Somerset man.
George Cheddar had previously been thought to be dead, but ATOS claim to have photographic evidence that he is very much alive and ought to have attended two fitness for work assessments.
“We’ve seen his photograph on the BBC website,” said an ATOS spokesman, “and he doesn’t look dead to us. In fact, he looks remarkably fit.”
It is believed that the UK Border Agency is conducting a separate investigation into his right to remain in this country since he does not appear to have a valid visa.
