TV presenter and musician Jools Holland has confirmed his long-running TV show will be broadcast: ‘Very early, pre-watershed, in time for me to grab a cocoa and run’. The presenter has been under fire for complaining about a local venue that stayed open ‘beyond eight PM’ some nights, but insists he’s right to expect an early turn-in most evenings.
The venue owners argue that they are a wedding venue, have a late licence and hosted Holland’s own wedding, but admitted: ‘He turned up in pyjamas, wound up all our clocks and turned in before EastEnders had finished,’ said a spokesman for the venue. ‘I suppose that should have warned us.’
Fans of the show can still watch it at an unreasonable hour with the sound turned up to ‘three or four’ if they use the BBC iPlayer app and don’t live in Kent. ‘We don’t want to upset Jools,’ stated a BBC spokesman, adding something that sounded like ‘diddums.’
