Man admits Brexit vote was influenced by ‘angry cat’ Facebook post

Surrey engineer Henry Ebdon has put his decision to vote for Brexit down to a Facebook post titled ‘Angry cat beats up owner’, in which tabby Morpheus viciously attacks his female owner despite her frantic attempts to calm him. The post has been ‘liked’ over 200,000 times.

‘I didn’t post it and nor did my friends.’ Ebdon said. ‘I suspect a right-wing conspiracy to plant it there and steal my data. How else would Facebook know I like animal videos? This was by far the main reason for my vote.’ Meanwhile, a campaign group set up to ‘find the cat and offer it up as a sacrifice to the gods’ has received wide support from voters seeking to overturn Brexit.
