1980s stand up Jim Davidson has announced his availability to take over the role of Apu Nahasapeemapetilon in The Simpsons from Hank Azaria, who has inexplicably voiced his willingness to stop voicing the part. ‘I do a brilliant Jamaican accent – my mate Chalky said he ‘ent seen nuttin quite loike it’, said the brilliant impressionist whose career was tragically cut short by political correctness. ‘Anyway, foreigners all sound the same anyway, so why not?

Mr Davidson has denied suggestions from metropolitan Remoaner lefty snowflakes that him playing an Indian would be in bad taste. ‘I’ll bring huge respect to the role and if anyone really wants me to prove it, I’ll black up for the recordings.’ he said. ‘Nick nick.’
