Thorpe conspirators to be charged with crimes against fashion

Police viewing footage of the Jeremy Thorpe case have sought counselling after being exposed to what they call ‘the fashion crime of the century’, with men’s slacks like ships’ sails, appalling sideburns and disco shirts so loud they can only be viewed with protective glasses.

Legal experts now believe there must have been a ‘major establishment cover-up’ involving leading figures from glam rock and Texan soap operas for this kind of garb to be inflicted on an unsuspecting public and go unpunished for four decades.

Meanwhile, a representative of the RSPCA has announced they are no longer seeking any prosecution for the killing of Norman Scott’s dog Rinka: ‘Having shared a car with a man wearing platform shoes and a jacket with two square feet of polyester lapel, the poor animal must have welcomed the bullet to the head as an act of mercy.’
