Tate Galleries renamed to avoid shameful obesity connection

Following recent protests by undergraduates at the Chelsea College of Arts in Westminster, the nearby Tate Gallery and its sister gallery Tate Modern are to be renamed. The curators of both galleries said it was ‘with deep regret’ that the munificence of sugar magnate and philanthropist Henry Tate should no longer be recognised in the galleries’ names, but that Tate’s deep and shameful connection with the obesity epidemic could no longer be ignored.

As from next month, Tate Britain will have the new name of No Added Sugar Thank You, or Nasty for short, while Tate Modern will be known as Nastier, due to utter tat housed within it.
