Brexit vote unlikely after May says it will definitely happen

Westminster is in turmoil after Theresa May confirmed that the vote on Brexit will happen on in the week beginning 14 January. Jacob Rees-Mogg said: ‘We were all primed for the week of the 14th January – I had a speech all ready and everything – but now the Prime Minister has thrown it all into doubt by saying it’s definitely going to happen.”

‘Although we’re not in Boris territory, when it comes to important predictions – general elections, having a vote at all and so on – she’s 100% bang on: she says one thing and the opposite happens. We’re all a bit confused now. She says Brexit going to happen, but then says there’s a danger Brexit won’t happen. We took that to mean, Brexit isn’t go to happen, but there’s a danger it will.’
