Daniel Day Lewis to take lead in Karen Bradley Biopic

In a surprise to the entertainment Industry, Daniel Day Lewis (three time Oscar Winner and 1999 Rear of the Year) has announced that he plans to come out of retirement to play Karen Bradley in a new film about the Secretary of State’s life.

When asked what drew him to the project, Day Lewis said that having already portrayed a man imprisoned and castigated for a crime he didn’t commit in In the Name of the Father, he felt that Bradley deserved the same treatment as someone clearly caught up in a system that she barely understood.

When further asked how he planned to prepare for the role, as he is known for his methodical and meticulous preparation, he said that he would follow Bradley’s approach to learning about Northern Ireland politics and listen to The Undertone’s Teenage Kicks on repeat whilst burning a few pallets and some incense in his back garden.
