Following the runaway success of season 2, in which Fleabag Phoebe Waller-Bridge seduces a celibate Catholic priest, BBC bosses have commissioned a further two seasons focusing on so-called ‘involuntary celibacy’.
‘We’re in talks with Jude Law to play the IT support guy’, said a BBC spokesman. ‘His agent is resisting the elasticated waist slacks and stained T shirt, but we have to make the character believable as a celibate. We’re having similar issues with Season 4, which features Tom Hardy as a Civil War Re-enactment enthusiast.’
The priest storyline in season 2 has been amazing for the Beeb’s reviews. The Catholic Herald gave it five stars and said: ‘best wank I’ve had since Ballykissangel’.’
