European elections ‘not as good as they once were’ say voters

A small number of voters yesterday refused to vote in the European elections, not due to disillusionment with the European and UK political class, but because they believe that the European elections were better when it was just them who voted and cared.

One such voter, Jennifer Dent – who insists the albums Bleach by Nirvana and Ride the Lightening by Metallica are those bands actual masterpieces – said she didn’t feel the Euro elections ‘were her elections anymore,’ that the new voters had ‘jumped on the bandwagon;’ and these neophytes ‘didn’t have the knowledge of the Euro elections and their purpose like she did,’ which she admitted, even after voting in the last three European elections, ‘still wasn’t that great.’

Other complaints made by Sharon, and voters like her, were not being able to ‘take their time in the polling booth’ and of missing their ‘long chats with the polling clerks.’ But there was one positive, said Sharon, ‘we’ve still got by-elections.’
