Pictures of Boris helping old ladies to cross roads, playing with kittens and rescuing drowning children singlehandedly have been sent anonymously to newspapers, but Mr Johnson has refused to comment on them.
Other pictures, including Boris leading a conga dance in an old people’s home; reading stories to disadvantaged children in his spare time; laughing and joking with people of colour and not looking at bikini-clad young Conservatives could spontaneously surface as early as tomorrow, say sources close to the Johnson campaign. But Mr Johnson has steadfastly refused to talk about any of the pictures. He added ‘I won’t bring my private life into this. And I’m not going to comment about the picture we did yesterday showing me taming an escaped lion and removing a thorn from the poor creature’s paw.’
