After coming in for criticism over supporting a no deal Brexit and then moving his company headquarters to Singapore, Sir James Dyson has now purchased the biggest penthouse flat in Singapore.
But it is not, as some commentators claim, another example of the hypocrisy of Britain’s leading vacuum innovator; at least according to Sir James himself.
“People think I’m just out for myself and have no interest in Britain’s fate following an exit from the EU; nothing could be further from the truth”, whined Sir James. “I have bought the largest, most expensive, apartment in Singapore as the backdrop for the next advertising campaign.”
Dyson have engaged famed marketing agency Barf Bogie and Hogmanay to draw up a campaign showing Sir James himself constantly cleaning his new apartment with the full range of equipment his company has to offer.
“The idea is the place is so mind-blowingly big I will constantly have to clean it – even with the excellent Dyson V11 cordless (available from all good retailers – a snip at £599) that will leave little time to enjoy the swimming pool, jacuzzi room or bar facilities in the £43m property, or indeed the magnificent views over the harbour.”, Sir James explained, his fingers firmly crossed behind his back.
