Australian music lovers are said to be in mourning after the sad news broke that the Spice girls are cancelling their planned nationwide tour down under.
Gareth (Gazza) Williams, Melbourne based Impresario, said today,”We’re gutted mate, those Pom sheilas have really let us down, you could have thrown me on the Barbie and called me a raw prawn when I heard the news. We are the country that gave the world musical geniuses like Nellie Melba, Rolf Harris, Jason Donovan, the list is endless mate, and we deserve some respect.”
Back in London, the girl’s management were tight lipped, despite rumours of a bust up between Mel B,formally Scary Spice and Geri Horner, formally Ginger Spice, no one was answering the telephone.
The music world is awash with rumours that tempers flared when the tour’s sponsors Pataks insisted that each girl be renamed after one of their top selling products. It is understood that Baby Spice and Sporty Spice were both happy to be relabelled but that as each believe themselves to be the hottest, Mel B and Geri almost came to blows insisting on being called Vindaloo.
Mel B,now famous for her marital bust ups and alleged sexual encounter with former band member Geri, is said to be distraught, as she said that she intended her performances to be a homage to Australia’s indigenous people, the Maori.
