Man holding door open thinks he has solved gender inequality

At 12.37, Tuesday, Paul Webster (43) took the bold – some might say courageous – decision to hold a door open for a female work colleague, thus correcting decades of gender oppression and several episodes of Top Gear.  Modestly, Mr. Webster explained that his actions came about due to the guilt he felt starring at her cleavage, well, certainly by the fifth or sixth time of being caught.

Paul has a long history of supporting women’s rights; be it sleeping in the damp patch, putting the recycling out or bathing at the plug end.  He has done his bit to narrow the gender wage gap by tipping the baby-sitter – which also helps to buy her silence.

Mr. Webster explained:  ‘While I don’t know much about women’s suffrage, I once bought my mum some carnations from a Tesco garage.  And remembered to take the sticker off.  Plus, I have never touched any woman inappropriately…but not for want of trying’.

His female co-worker commented:  ‘I appreciate the gentlemanly gesture.  I didn’t have the heart to tell him I can do my own doors’.
