In an attempt to move away from the elderly middle class cruise ship demographic Coronavirus has announced that it will now go under the much edgier and cool name of ‘Covid-19′.
The virus is hoping the rebranding will make a strong impact among the trendier 18-30s market and has revealed impressive plans to spread around Ibiza and other Mediterranean islands this summer.
But some experts have criticised the idea as overambitious suggesting the fledgling virus won’t be able to compete with long established infections of chlamydia and herpes which currently have a tight grip in these sectors.
A spokesman for Covid-19 confirmed it will be launching an Instagram page and will have its very own Snapchat filter later this month. There is also a rumour the virus may make an appearance at this years Glastonbury festival alongside Diana Ross.
