The family set out aboard their Sally the Swan pedalo for a half hour pedal around the lake and waited for their number to be called up via the loud hailer. After almost an hour on the water and with their legs getting tired, the family attempted to dock but were confronted by boating lake staff who informed them that they needed to be quarantined as they’d had reports of a woman on board being sick over the side.
‘Before they shoved us back onto the lake with a long pike-hook, they threw us a packet of wet wipes, a plastic bucket and a bottle of Cillit Bang Power Cleaning spray,’ said disgruntled holiday maker, Chris Amersham. ‘The mother in law hasn’t stopped throwing up and the kids want to get back to their iPhones, it’s a nightmare.’
A Lincolnshire health official confirmed that the family had been quarantined and would need to remain on the pedalo for at least the next two weeks. Meanwhile, dozens of participants at a nearby Zombie Apocalypse centre have been released from quarantine, minus one or two limbs, after panic set a week ago over a possible Covid-19 outbreak.
