Church of England to insist on at least one believer on Bishop shortlists


In a controversial move, the Church of England has introduced a rule that at least one candidate on bishopric shortlists must ‘believe in God or, you know, something bigger out there or something.’


We know this will ruffle some feathers’, said Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, who had earlier admitted he’d only applied for the job because of the big house and the chance to wear a dress. ‘But we in the church want to broaden the appeal and after a recent report, we decided that the time was right for immediate half-assed action.’
