MPs sign sponsorship deals to boost income

As part of efforts by MPs to find legitimate new ways to supplement their annual salary it was announced that the showcase Prime Minister’s Questions sessions would feature sponsorship. From July, MPs from both sides of the house will be entitled to ask questions such as ‘Is the Prime Minister aware of the urgency of getting down to DFS before 4pm Sunday to catch the end of its half-price sale?’

Man shunned after giving detailed answer to simple question about his wellbeing

'he just walked off'A man from Oxfordshire has been shunned by work colleagues after giving a lengthy answer to the simple question about how his day was going. Jack Roberts had just made a cup of coffee when he passed a colleague in the corridor who politely enquired, ‘How are you?’ Roberts proceeded to tell the colleague that actually he was not that good, was stressed with his workload and also had some problems at home with erectile dysfunction. ‘He just looked a bit stunned and then walked off,’ said Roberts.

Shreddies ‘Nanas’ freed from sweatshop

old ladies attacked rescuers with knitting needlesFour hundred elderly women have today been freed from a factory in the Midlands where they were employed to ‘knit’ Shreddies for a pittance. Police were tipped off that the ‘Nanas’, made famous by recent advertising were being forced to work sixteen hour days seven days a week in atrocious conditions. When police raided the factory, they found many women close to death and several had to be put to sleep at their workstations as they became violent when officers tried to bring them to safety. One woman lashed out with her knitting needles and badly injured one officer, she was eventually cornered in a toilet cubicle and shot in the head.
