Hundreds of veterans from campaigns as diverse as the Hammersmith Palais punch-up of 1957 to last summer’s scuffle outside the Babylon Club, Aiya Napa, watched as footballing legend Steven Gerrard pulled aside the cloth to reveal the new sculpture.

‘Scrapping’, as the statue has been called, depicts two faceless masculine figures, one held in a headlock by the other, with a smaller, more feminine figure attempting to break them up, and bears the legend ‘leave it Barry, he’s not worth it.’
