Hans Blix finds ‘no evidence’ of Iraq Inquiry

He's looked everywhere. The QEII Conference Centre. Down the back of the sofa. Nothing.Former UN Weapons Inspector Dr Hans Blix says that following a visit to the UK he has found ‘no evidence’ that Britain is harbouring an inquiry into the Iraq War.

‘I have searched the length and breadth of the country,’ said Dr Blix ‘and I cannot find anything resembling an inquiry. I did stumble across a committee room with a few retired civil servants and historians sitting behind a desk, but nothing that might pose a serious threat to the British state.’

Brian Haw sees property value of protest camp soar in past six months

compact, bijou, and worth a bloody fortuneNew figures released today show that anti-war protester Brian Haw has seen the value of the land he occupies in Westminster rise by a staggering 64% since January this year.

A spokesperson for the Halifax building society, which conducted the research, says: ‘This is the most encouraging sign yet that the recovery is real. While Mr Haw may be disappointed that men, women and children continue to die needlessly around the world, he can at least take comfort from knowing his camp site has continued to acquire equity during these troubling times.’
